The take-up of places in our mixed pairs tournament this year was
less than we hoped for. As a result we were forced to play some teams
comprised of members of our own club.

The visiting teams were further depleted when one team was unable
to compete due to illness.

Pat and Peter had come along to help but were co-opted to play
and make up the numbers.
