It was good to see the club house used, full of light and heat, instead of shut up and cold. Your efforts also meant the bar did good business with the club getting all the profits. It is nice to see the planned take-over of the green maintenance coming into effect. Thanks to all those who have worked so hard on this. Thanks also to all those who have helped get the club ready for the new season. The green , surrounds and club buildings are all showing the benefits of your hard work. We are currently playing dominoes, darts and a variety of card games including cribbage and bridge. However, we would love to hear any thoughts or ideas you may have for inclusion in future evenings. This Wednesday (27th) sees the start of the darts bottle competition which we hope will be good fun. Hope to see as many of you as possible joining in. A total of 36 members attended and played a variety of card games and darts. Everyone seemed to enjoy the evening whether they were just learning bridge or cribb, just playing or teaching. A big thank you to all who made the evening such a success. Next week we intend to include dominoes and a surprise competition. Please come along and help us make this evening a regular event. Posted by : Keith ...... on : 26th Sept Return to Home Page LSC Result Our LSC fours team lost to Leighton Buzzard at Brentwood on Sunday 27th in the semi-final of the competition. The game was very tight over the first 8 to 10 ends with only one shot scored per end. Unfortunately we came up against a skipper on top form who stole several ends with his brilliant drawing game. Overall the Leighton Buzzard team deserved their win but our lads played well and in the true spirit of the game. Well done to both sides and good luck to Leighton Buzzard in the final. Full details and photos are given in the gallery entry for the Two Wood Competition which was held on the same day. The next round of the competition will be held at a neutral venue in the next few weeks. Details will be given as soon as they are received. After a slow start, they gradually pulled out a lead which their opposition from Queenborough could not pull back. David & Peter eventually ran out 24 - 14 winners in the 20th end. This win entitles them to their KCBA County Badge. They next play in the County Quarter Finals at Gravesend Bowls Club, week commencing 20th July. In a very close match, David and Peter managed a two shot win on the final end of the game. The Divisional Finals are at Marden Bowls Club, from Monday 28th through to Friday 2nd July. David and Peter are scheduled to play Tuesday 29th at 6.00pm. Your support would be welcomed by both players.
